Be You!

The LGBTQIA+ community encompasses a diverse range of identities and experiences. We recognise that this community has faced and continues to overcome numerous challenges in their pursuit of equality and acceptance.

Art Therapy offers a safe space where individuals can embrace their authentic selves, express themselves creatively, and celebrate their unique identities.

Art Therapy supports and empowers the LGBTQIA+ community by allowing individuals to explore their identities, emotions, and experiences in a safe, non-judgmental space. Through art, people can communicate and process their self-discovery journeys, find healing, and build self-esteem.

Art Therapy Worx champions LGBTQIA+ by promoting self-expression and emotional well-being. Choices are respected and preferred names and pronouns are used. We provide an environment where you can be you!

There is ongoing research exploring the intersection between the LGBTQIA+ community and the Autism spectrum. While it is true that there seems to be a higher prevalence of individuals identifying as LGBTQIA+ within the Autistic community, the reasons for this are still being explored. Neurodivergent individuals may have a unique perspective on gender and sexuality which could result in a greater likelihood of exploring their identity outside societal norms.

We work with Autistic and LGBQIA+ clients and those who identify with both and recognise that everyone's journey is unique and generalisations should be avoided.
